Where can I rent snowmobiles?

Stowe Snowmobile Tours rents snowmobiles and gives guided tours, call them at (802) 253-6221. Tour Site and Reservation Office: Located at Umiak Outfitter on Route 100, 1 1/4 miles south of the Mountain Road. You can also check out the VAST website for lots of information on snowmobiling in Vermont. Note that in Vermont, snowmobiles can only be rented through a tour company. Rent to ride on your own is not allowed.

What trails are available in Stowe?

See Stowe on the Vermont wide interactive map from VAST. An app is also available to download in the Google Play or Apple App Store. There are free and paid versions. The app is called VT VAST Snowmobile Trails.

What the heck is a TMA?

A Trail Maintenance Assesment (TMA) sticker is required to ride in Vermont. They are available for either the full season or for 3 days. Click here for information on obtaining your TMA.

Where can I stay in Stowe?

Lots of lodging, dining, and general Stowe area information is available at GoStowe.com. We recommend:

  • Outbound Stowe, 802-253-7595 - You can access the trail directly from the hotel.

Where can I eat along the trail in Stowe?

There is food available on the Mountain Road at The Deli at AlpineMart, the Eastside Bar and Bites at the Oubound Hotel, and at Alfie's Wild Ride. All are in the same area. From Intersection LE24, take the 15B F trail and follow the signs through Percy Park. This trail will bring you into the back side of Alfie's Wild Ride and you may park there.

Where can I get gas in Stowe?

There is fuel available on the Mountain Road at AlpineMart. From Intersection LE24, take the 15B F trail and follow the signs through Percy Park.

How can I join the Stowe Snowmobile Club?

It's easy. When you register for your TMA online, just select Stowe Snowmobile Club as your club and you're in! Club only membership is also available the vtvast.org.

Who can I call if I need help on the trail in Stowe?

Stowe is home to Stowe Mountain Rescue, and the Stowe Police Department. If you have an emergency, dial 911.
